3D visualization of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant

September 6, 2011

You will all remember the devastating nuclear accident after the tsunami and earthquake in Japan earlier this year. Afterwards, a lot of efforts has been put into trying to explain what exactly happened at the nuclear power plant during and after the Tsunami and earthquake and as so often, visuals seem to be the best way to explain this complicated scenario.

Back in April some of the really smart people in the Services team at Right Hemisphere created a visualization of the aftereffect on the nuclear plant caused by the power outage and leaks that occurred in the nuclear plant based on news reports available at the time.

By now almost 300 people have viewed this visualization on CNN.com, with Right Hemisphere and Deep Exploration identified in the iReport description.

You should check it out: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-585026

Unfortunately the quality of the video on CNN.com is not very good. Here is a better quality version of the visualization.
